Very disappointing stay — misleading four-star representation I stayed here expecting a four-star property, as it is represented as four-star on Google Maps. In reality, it felt more like an Airbnb/guesthouse, and I found this designation misleading. The colonial house and location are beautiful, but the room was extremely small and damp. The bedsheet was damp enough that I was unable to sleep properly. There was no telephone in the room and no one available to assist at night, despite the property advertising a 24/7 reception. Check-in was also confusing, with congested parking and no clear guidance to the supposed reception area. When I mentioned that I couldn’t sleep because of the damp bedding, the older owner told me that I should have put a towel underneath myself. I found this response extremely insensitive. Breakfast was average, and my wife noticed that the peanut butter appeared to be expired; we have photographs showing the expiry/best-before information. I eventually left and returned to Gurgaon because I couldn’t sleep. My wife also subsequently had difficulty sleeping because of the dampness. Beautiful property and location, but the accommodation, cleanliness and service were far below what I would expect from a four-star establishment. The four-star designation and 24/7 reception claim should be reviewed if they are inaccurate.
We stayed here as a family of three and absolutely loved it. Price-wise, it is comparable to high-end hotels but it is 10,000 times better than a standard modern luxury hotel. Instead of a cold, impersonal , you get warmth, gardens, and authentic personal service on a beautiful home. Ideal Location. Located near Lodhi Gardens, Safdarjung Tomb, and karol bagh, with famous sites like Humayun's Tomb just minutes away. Great base to head south to Qutub Minar or over to Kahn market and green park ( there are deers!!!). When you're ready for Old Delhi (Red Fort & Chandni Chowk), it's only 6–7 miles away. Facilities & Comfort: Extremely comfortable beds, spotless rooms, and a fantastic pool open from 6:00 AM to late at night. Dining: Breakfast is phenomenal and 100% personalized to your taste. Dinner: If you choose to eat on-site, it is strictly vegetarian home-style cooking. 2k per person If you want peace, character, and exceptional personal service in Delhi, this is the place to be!
Among the top five places I have ever stayed. My list of why is practically endless, but here are a few notes. LB is an oasis of calm and care in chaotic Delhi. A lovely proprietor, Mrs Shukla Nath, is surrounded by lovely and very competent staff…in the garden, the kitchen for starters. The apartments are quaint, clean and comfortable — not luxurious, but homey — and the food is fresh and includes homemade bread and marmalades at breakfast. A cat, two sweet retrievers, a swimming pool and jackfruit round out the picture. Whatever you do, DON’T visit this gem of a hotel … I’m going back Wednesday
Great location, difficult to get something better than this. Amazing food. The dinner was simple home made food, which we loved! Owners are very nice people. Rooms though, and overall cleanliness of the property, doesn’t match the price point. We had to ask staff to come and clean the floor of our rooms as soon as we entered it. The cleaner cleaned the floor with a cloth. Bathroom had a very poorly maintained bathtub.
