Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Moshi. After a short briefing, begin the drive toward Materuni Village on the lower slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Meet your local village guide and learn about the Chagga people, their traditions, farming activities, and daily life. Begin a guided walk through coffee and banana farms toward Materuni Waterfall. Enjoy a scenic hike through green vegetation, small streams, and local farmland. Upon arrival, admire the powerful waterfall, take photographs, and relax in the peaceful natural surroundings. Swimming may be possible depending on water and weather conditions. Return to Materuni Village and participate in a traditional coffee-making experience. Learn how coffee beans are picked, dried, roasted, ground, and brewed while enjoying local songs and cultural demonstrations. Enjoy a freshly prepared Chagga-style lunch made with local ingredients. Vegetarian meals can be arranged with advance notice. Depart Materuni Village and travel through the countryside toward Chemka Hot Springs. Leave Chemka Hot Springs and begin the return journey to Moshi. • The Materuni Waterfall walk involves uneven, slippery and sometimes muddy paths, especially during or after rainfall. Comfortable walking shoes with good grip are strongly recommended. Bring swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, drinking water and a light rain jacket. A waterproof bag is useful for protecting your phone, camera and personal belongings. The tour includes moderate walking and may not be suitable for travellers with serious mobility limitations. Please inform the tour operator in advance about any medical conditions, dietary requirements or special assistance needed. Swimming at Chemka Hot Springs is optional. The water is naturally clear and refreshing, but guests should always follow the guide’s safety instructions and supervise children closely.
