Meet your local guide and begin your experience with an introduction to the contrast between Diani's well-known resort and beach-bar scene and the everyday social life found beyond the tourist areas. Instead of ordering the same beer, wine, spirit, or cocktail you may already know from home, discover a traditional coastal drink and the culture, stories, and people around it. On arrival at the open-air venue, receive a personal welcome from the local host. Your guide will help bridge conversation between you, the host, staff, and willing local guests so you feel welcomed rather than simply observing from the outside. Discover mnazi and learn where the palm wine comes from, how it reaches local venues, how its taste and character can change with fermentation, and why it has a place in coastal social culture. The host and guide share local stories, humorous beliefs, and folklore connected with mnazi. Optionally taste mnazi in small portions. Drinking alcohol is not compulsory, and the cultural and social experience remains available to guests who choose not to drink. A signature part of the experience is a guided “three-sip mnazi challenge.” First, observe the aroma and taste, then listen to a local story or piece of coastal folklore, and finally give your own playful verdict on the traditional drink.
