Visit Chandni Chowk:
Tour starts from Chandni Chowk, it is one of the busiest and oldest street of Delhi, which famous for small ornaments and local culture, enjoy a rickshaw ride over here and explore the best of it. Chandni Chowk is also famous for its huge Spice Market which attracts traveller across the globe.
Visit Jama Masjid:
Jama Masjid is the largest mosque in India with a courtyard capable of holding 25,000 devotees .It was begun in 1650 by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, more than 5,000 workers toiled for six years to complete it. Every Friday, the emperor and his retinue would travel in state from the fort to the mosque to attend the congressional prayers.
Pass by Red Fort:
The Red Fort, constructed in 1648 by the fifth Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan was the residence of the Mughal emperor for about 200 years, until 1857.The Red Fort’s innovative architectural style, including its garden design, influenced later buildings and gardens in Delhi. Its massive enclosing walls of red sandstone and is adjacent to the older Salimgarh Fort.
Visit Humayun Tomb:
Humayun’s tomb(Maqbara e Humayun) is the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Humayun. The tomb was declared a Unesco World Heritage Site in 1993. It was commissioned by Humayun’s son Akbar in 1569, designed by Mirak Mirza Ghiyas, a Persian architect chosen by emperor’s widow Haji begum. It was the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent and is located in Nizamuddin East, Delhi, India.
Pass by India Gate:
At the centre of New Delhi stands the 42m high India Gate, an “Arc-de-Triomphe” like archway in the middle of a crossroad. It was built as a memorial to commemorate the India soldiers killed in World War I, India Gate was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens.
Visit Lotus Temple (closed on Monday)
Lotus Temple, built in the shape of a lotus flower, is the last of seven Major Bahai’s temples built around the world built in 1986.The structure is made up of pure white marble.The architect Furiburz Sabha chose the lotus as the symbol common to Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Islam.Around the blooming petals, here are nine pools of water, which light up, in natural light. It looks spectacular at dusk when it is flood lit.
Visit Qutub Minar:
Qutab Minar is a soaring, 73 m-high tower, is the tallest brick minaret in the world. It was built in 1193 by Qutub-ud-din Aibak immediately after the defeat of Delhi’s last Hindu kingdom. Its is declared as Unesco’s world heritage site.
