Description
Early Morning:
Departure from Delhi: Board an early morning flight from Delhi to Varanasi. The flight duration is approximately 1.5 hours.
Arrival in Varanasi: Upon arrival at Varanasi Airport, you will be greeted by your tour guide and driver.
Morning:
Visit Sarnath: Drive to Sarnath, a significant Buddhist site where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon. Explore the Dhamek Stupa, Chaukhandi Stupa, Ashoka Pillar, and the Sarnath Archaeological Museum.
Breakfast: Enjoy a traditional breakfast at a local restaurant.
Late Morning:
Kashi Vishwanath Temple: Visit the famous Kashi Vishwanath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva. Note that security is tight, and non-Hindus may not be allowed inside the temple premises.
Bharat Mata Temple: Visit the Bharat Mata Temple, known for its unique relief map of India carved in marble.
Afternoon:
Lunch: Enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant.
Banaras Hindu University (BHU): Take a quick tour of the sprawling BHU campus and visit the New Vishwanath Temple within the premises.
Late Afternoon:
Boat Ride on the Ganges: Experience a serene boat ride on the Ganges River. Witness the numerous ghats along the riverbank and learn about their significance. Key ghats include Dashashwamedh Ghat, Manikarnika Ghat, and Assi Ghat.
Evening:
Ganga Aarti Ceremony: Witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti ceremony at Dashashwamedh Ghat. This is a spiritual and visually stunning ritual where priests perform prayers to the river Ganges with lamps, incense, and chanting.
Night:
Return to Varanasi Airport: After the Aarti, head back to the airport for your return flight to Delhi.
Departure from Varanasi: Board your flight back to Delhi.
Arrival in Delhi: Arrive at Delhi airport late in the night, concluding your same-day tour to Varanasi.
